Passwordless X1280 Introduced at the 2025 ITU Regional Asia-Pacific CyberDrill

The President of the Passwordless Alliance, Jonghyun Woo, participated in the Cyber Drill hosted by ITU and the Government of Mongolia, delivering a presentation on strengthening cyber security through the use of passwordless technology. The Cyber Drill is a cyber security training program targeting telecommunications/ICT organizations, regulatory bodies, national CSIRTs (Computer Security Incident Response Teams), and major critical infrastructure operators in each region, including developing and emerging countries.
In particular, he explained real-world cases of applying Passwordless X.1280, which has been established as an ITU standard, in actual banks and government institutions, receiving a positive response from the audience. President Woo conveyed to the public that the core of X.1280 is that it is much safer and more convenient when the responsibility for proof of authentication lies with the online system rather than with the user when accessing online systems.
He also announced that the Passwordless X1280 software, a technology already being adopted by major Korean banks such as Kookmin Bank and Woori Bank, will be made freely available to global B2C online services.
