Building Future Cybersecurity Talent: X.1280 Training at the Korea ICT Human Resources Development Center
The Passwordless Alliance, in partnership with the Korea ICT Human Resources Development Center under the Korea Association for ICT Promotion, has been successfully running the “Cloud-Based Passwordless Security AI Web Developer Training Program” since September of last year.
Fully funded by the Korean government, this program stands out for embedding ITU-T X.1280 — an international standard for passwordless authentication — throughout its entire curriculum. Its mission is to equip the next generation of corporate security professionals with hands-on skills to apply this advanced authentication technology directly in the workplace.
Participants in the program build a strong foundation in cloud infrastructure, AI model integration, and both front-end and back-end development. They then apply their skills to develop secure and high-performing web services using X.1280 technology. To further boost field-readiness, students also benefit from mentoring by technical members of the Passwordless Alliance and live demonstrations of real-world service integrations. As of 2025, many graduates have successfully completed the course, which is still ongoing and attracting new students.
Beyond nurturing domestic cybersecurity talent, the Passwordless Alliance is expanding its international cooperation as well. In the first half of this year, it signed a partnership agreement with Ecuador’s Army School of Communications (ESCOM) and delivered a successful remote training program on X.1280 technology. Twenty Ecuadorian cybersecurity experts took part in this virtual course, gaining practical experience alongside a deep understanding of the standard.

The Passwordless Alliance is committed to advancing global cybersecurity skills and continuing to expand international standard technologies like X.1280.
