The Passwordless Alliance, together with the ITU Telecommunication Development Bureau (ITU-D) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific and the Telecommunication Technology Association (TTA) of Korea, held the Interregional Training Course on ITU International Standards in Bangkok, Thailand, from 11 to 13 February 2026. This official ITU training course brought together information security officials and cybersecurity experts from the Asia-Pacific and CIS regions.
The three-day program covered two international standards: Storage Protection (the ITU-T X.1220 series) and Passwordless Authentication (ITU-T X.1280). DualAuth led the sessions on passwordless authentication based on ITU-T X.1280, while FilingCloud covered technologies for countering data exfiltration and ransomware based on ITU-T X.1220.
The course centered on standardized technology paired with hands-on practice using software that implements it. Alongside the theory, participants applied ransomware and data-leakage countermeasures and phishing-resistant passwordless authentication in live environments. Passwordless X1280, used in the training, is available free of charge for B2C online services, and FilingBox is distributed free of charge to healthcare institutions — allowing participating countries to continue applying both in their own environments after the course, with no licensing costs.
Chairman John Woo said, “It is a highly meaningful achievement that international standard technologies, and the software implementing them, have been adopted into an official training program of an international organization and are now spreading to multiple countries.” He added, “We will continue working with the ITU to bring these technologies to more countries and more field deployments.”
